if I saw some woman walking idly toward a burning building with the intent to stop the burning, I'd think she was nuts. Same for any EMT who walked their way over to someone bleeding on the pavement.

If that's what the Aes Sedai are wanting, then no wonder no one likes them! Holding yourself aloofly distant and "elite" over people does very little to endear them to you and won't get you very far in respect if that's all you have going for you.

As to Elaida ... she had that Foretelling back in her Accepted years and already new Morgase from her time in the Tower. She jumped on the Trakand bandwagon when it became obvious that Morgase would become Queen.
