No one thinks the remnant of a remnant will die ...
The relevant part is that it contrasts the remnant of the remnant with the rest of the Aiel. If the remnant is distinct in that they shall live, then what do you think that makes the others?
Will SAVE THEM ... Not that they will survive or that they will be the ONLY survivors Rand saves, only that a remnant of the Aiel will be part of those he saves. The rest will obviously die out, but that does not mean they will die immediately following TG. We heard Aviendha's vision speak of the "Peace of the Dragon" and we then saw the Aiel of the Waste break that peace and ultimately die out. There is no mention at all of possible people who honored the Peace (i.e. went back to The Way) and thus represent the remnant spoken of in the Prophesy. In short I am saying it is possible that the remnant of the Aiel in the Prophesy will go on to be part of a new larger group who honor the Peace of the Dragon and are in essence the "reborn Aiel".
Domani Drag Queen in the White Tower ... Aran'gar watch out!

The entire point, I believe, is to give Avienda the opportunity to change that future

As far as I understand it, that future is impossible anyway.

What I am saying is that it's not a "pure bloodline" that makes one an Aiel
