That's one of my problems with taking it at face value: She's very intelligent, has said consistently that if Rand came against her she would run away, and then she saw with her own eyes how much Power he wielded with the Choedan Kal.

I doubt she'd hang out playing mind games and sipping iced tea if he could quite literally reach out from miles away with the Choedan Kal's might and flatten her palace with barely a twitch.

The whole rough nature of how she applied the Compulsion bespeaks of a hasty exit, methinks. Hasty as in "Ohs&%^he'satmydoorsteptimetogettheheckoutofdodgeOhyeahletmeremembertoCompeltheagentasIstepthroughmyGateway."
