IMO, that answer also makes it rather unlikely that Graendal was there to use Compulsion on servants in the Palace (or even that Graendal & Sammael disguised themselves as those servants), as it was often suggested. The servants are obviously irrelevant, and their mention isn't supposed to be a hint to indicate that a Forsaken might be in the Palace a bit later to get servants as spies. The Palace was anyway largely empty except for Rand's troops at the time of Asmo's murder.
IIRC, RJ was very evasive about some things in the fight with Andor's usurper. There were questions, I think, about the fact that some of Rand's TaR injuries didn't go away after he BF'd Rahvin - and RJ RAFO'd those questions.
The speculation some people made is that some other Forsaken must've been around, attacking Rand by putting him in a piranha tank (basically) and then trying to change him into something else. If Rand's injuries didn't disappear because of some special propert of TaR, this would place a Forsaken in the palace - whether or not they did something to the servants.
Intuitively obvious, my dear Watson
