Re: Harry, the twins, Mr and Mrs Tonks, Lupin, Mr and Mrs Weasley, Scrimgeour and Hermione Rebekah Send a noteboard - 30/11/2010 02:52:12 PM
Mr Weasley: I have said it before, and I'll say it again: I love it when Mr Weasley shows emotion. And I like how he sneakily helps Ron prepare for what he knows must come.

He's a very realistic person, I think, when he needs to be. He may be a little nutty when it comes to all things Muggle, but when serious things need to be done he's exactly the kind of person you want on your side.

Mrs Weasley: I am a little annoyed at how irrational she is. It is a little too much of the irrational woman stereotype for me. I know Rowling thrives on stereotypes, but this is one of my peeves.

I don't know. I don't think she's being irrational. Her reactions are quite consistent with someone who has to wait behind while those she loves are constantly in danger. I think she lets off steam more than anything else.

Scrimgeour: he is getting more disappointing, taking the road of Fudge to a certain extent. And we get Mrs Weasley's comment that the muggle studies teacher probably did not resign.

Scrimgeour should have been a good First Minister.

Hermione: Her precautions to protect her family always impresse me. She is, I think, the key player of the good side. Without her it would all fall apart because Harry would be dead in a ditch within a week or so.

Yes. However, I realise that the thing I most like in this book is that Harry works things out for himself, takes a proper leading role, and actually listens to/learns from Hermione in the right way. It's such an improvement. He's finally a properly heroic guy.

Of course, he still couldn't do it without Hermione, but she's no longer the general fix-it character.
