Twain's use of "nigger" was mordant and satirical. Martin's use of rape verges on erotic at times, and that is what so many people have a problem with--not that there is rape, but that it's treated as entertainment more than it is a horrific physical and psychological assault.

Yup, that is about it. And then there is the dubious presentation of the dothraki as almost defined by their acceptance of rape.

Well I disagree as the rape wasn't at all erotic but truly disturbing. Why is presenting the dothrakia the way many cultures back then, accepting rape, actually were? I again point to Mark Twain.


And when you say "rape" now, I take it you do not mean the wedding night scene. I do. I am not claiming the later rapes were presented as seductions/erotic.
