On the one hand, trying to defend the Wheel of Time as anything more than a diversion (or "light fiction" as Eco called it in his article for the Guardian, linked above) may (and should) elicit some attacks.
On the other hand, if a post is made with thought and which presents a strong argument for serious treatment of any book, the genre shouldn't automatically exclude the book from serious discussion, nor should other peoples' inability to see value in the book keep you from posting about it.
