Re: When you talk about reasons men "should" be better at math

Personally, I've long thought that there was no difference in ability with math between men and women: only an interest in pursuing higher-level math. It's the same with physics, computers, engineering, etc... as much as there's concern about equal numbers of enrollments, maybe people should just take a step back and ask themselves "why?" when it's obvious women aren't generally as interested in those subjects as men.
Interest is important to consider too.
Taking several steps back, educational studies in general are showing that girls are consistently over-performing same-aged boys in school in all categories... except maybe gym.

Yes, well, current educational practices definitely favor the skills of girls over boys. In addition, girls are more mature than boys of the same age. That girls do better in school in any subject than their same-age male peers probably has very little to do with "natural" aptitude for particular types of thinking, which is really what I'm talking about.
Oh, and for the record, I've known some extremely talented women in math so I don't believe for a second that they're "less able". Probably the smartest math professor I ever had was a woman who quit teaching to go work on hush-hush projects for the NSA.

I happen to be one of them, so you won't find any disagreement from me on the existence of women with high aptitude for math
But I can also point to some female body-builders who could kick an average man's ass, some female baseball players who are better than the average man, etc. The point is that we're only talking in generalities and average population characteristics here
If you are from Betelgeuse, please have one of your Earth friends read what I've written before you respond. Or try concentrating harder.
