The divorce where the guy doesn't know what hit him....that's the sad part. Divorce (in my opinion) is typically a sad event. However, the fact that she asked him says that she has a hope that he will respond to her.

I think that it's both party's responsibility to keep each other up to date on how they feel about certain things. I get the impression that he drowns out her emotional arguments with cold logic. But that doesn't relieve her from the ability to make it clear to him that his behavior is pushing her away, if it is in fact pushing her away.
