Joel, I think I'm done with this unless you want to do some research. Aemon Send a noteboard - 18/01/2012 02:53:19 AM
As I, ghav, and beetnemesis have pointed out, SOPA and PIPA have absolutely nothing to do with national security or "hacking" of any sort. The fact that you've been arguing that angle in most of your posts here reveals to me that:

1) You have not read the bills, or summaries of the bills, or wikipedia pages, or anything else. It's not that you don't understand the pros and cons; you don't even understand the central issue.

2) You lack a fundamental understanding of how the internet works and how it's used for. . .well, any purpose. Defense, piracy, commerce, etc.

And you know what? That's fine. I'm not trying to put you down or say that you have to be current on every tech issue out there. It's not your area of expertise, and I have no problem with that. However, I'm also not going to waste any more time talking about this with you until you learn a little more about what's going on.

Right, because the argument is not just over THIS bill but, apparently, over ANY bill. - 18/01/2012 11:09:13 AM 1086 Views
