Instead of many grocery stores there is only 1 grocery store in a 500 mile radius. There are other grocery stores out there but none where you live which is Utah, only in other states.
You are FORCED to take 30% of your paycheck in a gift certificate to this grocery store. You can't renegotiate with your employer asking for more money and less gift certificate.
You are not mormon.
The grocery store has alcohol in its location for people who aren't hired by the mormon church (they buy it at a normal price), they can buy it just fine but you can not. You can't buy the alcohol for you have that gift certificate, you can't even buy the alcohol with your own money. I repeat you are not mormon.
You can buy your alcohol out of state via the internet but it costs 5 times the normal price since they have to ship it from out of state. Now the normal price is the same in all the states even at your local Utah grocery store, but still you have to pay 5 times the price since you are a "member" of this grocery store even though you have no control over getting paid 30% of your wages in a gift certificate.

That is essentially how Obama is getting around this problem; the cost of people buying it themselves will just (supposedly) be nothing, because the insurers can neither charge for it nor inflate premiums to offset it. Because an administration unconcerned with price oversight will vigorously enforce that via a law that seems unfamiliar with the very concept. Apart from that, my only response is, "OK." Whether or not I am a Mormon is neither here nor there to whether people who ARE, let alone the church itself, should pay for me violating its doctrine.
