To be honest, I'm not sure. I would want more time to look at a full panel of statistics, demographics, etc. I would think that there are probably clearer lines than we might imagine (and less clear in other areas). It is impossible to be right all of the time, so I'd have to shoot for most of the time and call it a good trade.

I do have guns (couple rifles, double-barrel shotgun, muzzleloader), but I do not believe I would ever want a hand gun or anything of the sort that people think they are buying for personal protection. I've been around handguns (in cars and houses where I can see them, even) and it makes me distinctly uncomfortable. My father was HUGE on education, safety, storage and don't touch anything unless you've checked that it isn't loaded!!!.
