And if you seriously expect the government to go overruling its own OC when it makes a judgement call that will protect the country's reputation, on the grounds of defending the athlete's freedom of expression, you're taking idealism to a whole new level...

Of course, like I indicated in my other post, I'm personally inclined more towards the view that OCs shouldn't really be deciding who does and doesn't go to the Games, and that those who meet IOC requirements can simply go. In which case, agreed, nobody could force her to withdraw from the Games (they could pressure her tremendously, to be sure, but that's not the same thing).
