And if you seriously expect the government to go overruling its own OC when it makes a judgement call that will protect the country's reputation, on the grounds of defending the athlete's freedom of expression, you're taking idealism to a whole new level...

In which case, agreed, nobody could force her to withdraw from the Games (they could pressure her tremendously, to be sure, but that's not the same thing).
