I oppose censorship even if it is not comng from the government random thoughts Send a noteboard - 26/07/2012 10:16:30 PM
The idea that we should win arguments not by the strength of our argument but by our ability to silence the other side is both misguided and destructive and that goes for private as well as government voices. If your idea has that much merit you should be able to win the argument without resorting to boycotting any company who allows the other side of the argument to be heard.

I find a couple things interesting about these situations. First Europe seems even worse about getting butthurt over silly stuff than Americans liberals. It isn't like what she said was really all that offensive. If she was favored to medal would they have still been as offended? Do we use the same standard to judge all atheletes who are outspoken on political issues?

As for the Chic-Fil-A thing I believe it is telling the Jewish mayor of Chicago is willing to welcome the blatant anti-Semite Farrakhan but is so deeply offended that an owner of fast food joint expressing an opinion held by about half the country that says his restaurants are not welcome in Chicago. It seems almost to ludicrous to be true.
