That seems more or less reasonable to me. Otherwise, pistols, rifles, shotguns, assault rifles... I don't really see what good can come of denying any of them. Except maybe for pistols, since they're the smallest and easiest to hide, but I am very loathe to rob people of their right to buy them, since I see them as the "primary" gun category, and also the only one that is useful for self defense if you're walking somewhere late at night or something. So you just have to take the good with the bad. And the way I see it, some people die due to pistols being allowed, and some are saved due to having them, and the two likely balance out. But everyone who has a pistol with them for self-defense feels safer and more secure because of it, while if they were outlawed everyone would still be just as fearful of being mugged or assaulted and killed as they are now.

I'm uncertain about sniper rifles, but basically bullet shooting type things seem fine to me. Obviously things like missile launchers, grenades, etc, have no business being in public circulation and therefore shouldn't be allowed.
