They do it because the general morality of the country changes over time. If they didn't, we would still have slavery and women couldn't vote. Sometime to make the change, proponents have to wrap it in logic, but the base reason for the change is moral.


I'm referring to things that aren't inherently wrong, merely made illegal because of religious (Christian) reasons. Things like gay marriage, prostitution, gambling, drugs, etc. As long as something is done by one or more consenting adults, and if there is harm it's done only to the consenting adults, it should be legal.
