But just call it something else other than marriage and the gay cause would be satisfied.

So are separate marriages. I do not want government regulating sacraments regardless, and people conflate sacramental and legal marriage far too much already. Consequently, I would like a distinct legal term, which the Equal Protection Clause explicitly requires be universally and equally accessible.
