I don't have insurance right now, either. I worry about that. However, this bill just makes things worse (regardless of which version you look at).
The key things that need to be addressed are:
1. Limiting medical malpractice lawsuits (should be done at the Federal level)
2. Emergency room reform to reduce hospital costs (could be done with Federal laws allowing people with non-serious conditions to be refused and a Federally-imposed 1% sales tax in every state to pay for the added hospital costs of illegals and no-pays)
3. A Federally imposed maximum price for a "minimum" insurance plan that could be purchased by people who don't have insurance

I just get the sense that eventually there'll have to be a structural change to how things are organized; what form that'll take ought to be debated and not argued in rhetoric that varies only slightly in tone and tenor from gang turf wars
