I mean, I'm pretty sure the Saudi royal family has been aware of their problem with extremism, at a conservative estimate, since about the time they managed to temporarily lose control over their most prized possession and the object granting them their most important title, the Grand Mosque of Mecca. Had to look up the date, I admit, but I see that was in 1979. I'm sure they haven't been idle since then - very likely things could've been much worse still - but what makes you think they'd get it under control now?
