Unless you want to commit to the position that people with mental illness should just deal with "the body they are genetically and biologically predisposed to" (have we abandoned that as a metric that is useful yet? You appear to have jumped to an entirely different set of criteria for what is important), you should probably reassess your argument.

Here are some other things that are "mental issue[s] that make[] people feel bad":

Anxiety
Depression
Bipolar Disorder
Schizophrenia
Paranoid Schizophrenia
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder

On the other hand, I don't know anyone with gender dysphoria so I've got no horse in this race.
There's just been an episode of Rubin Report with Blaire White which talks about this but haven't got around to it yet.

Just like cancer--it's natural, so it can't be bad. - 13/09/2017 12:37:16 AM 610 Views
You say my argument isn't good, so you rebut with... that? - 13/09/2017 02:01:04 AM 637 Views

I wouldn't care, either, if not for the demand for official recognition. - 13/09/2017 03:41:34 PM 691 Views
What are they asking for that bothers you? *NM* - 13/09/2017 04:07:19 PM 341 Views

I repeat, you do not fix your problems by maiming yourself. - 13/09/2017 09:56:36 PM 548 Views
So your suggestion is to keep the suicide rate staggeringly high. Excellent solution. - 13/09/2017 11:03:42 PM 607 Views
Nice strawman. - 14/09/2017 02:42:01 AM 526 Views

Don't allow them to maim themselves. It's that simple. I don't get why you don't get it. - 14/09/2017 03:18:20 AM 645 Views
Because you're saying "don't do this thing that makes you less likely to kill yourself." - 14/09/2017 05:46:13 AM 531 Views

I missed that part.... - 13/09/2017 07:00:17 PM 524 Views

Because it's not wrong...? - 15/09/2017 05:53:24 PM 549 Views
