No, it's not - but a lot of people commenting on them just seem to assume that that means the female characters in the books are depicted as weak or vapid, which is pretty absurd. And considering the travesty that is Nynaeve's storyline so far, plus the infamous fridging incident, it's pretty rich for people involved in the series to be claiming that the TV show has more depth in its female characters than the books.

So he went and rewrote her so as to have a character people wouldn't loathe.
Or at least, that's what the first episodes suggest and I would've expected them to do anyhow, we'll have to see how she evolves later on.
