An abortion imposes a real and direct right to life for the unborn child. The woman is imposing her will on another.
An abortion imposes a real and direct right to life for the unborn child. The woman is imposing her will on another.
It’s your view that there is “another” here. Neither science nor law says that. And if in fact a fetus is a person, vast swathes of American law make no sense.
That fetus is a distinct individual from the woman. They are connected, but it is temporary.
And abortion is specifically focused on that temporary connection. The day you’re able to incubate a fetus in an artificial womb, and that’s not as far away as this used to be, you’d have a different case. But even then, what forms inside a woman’s body is hers to keep or not. The law has no business inside her.
She should have no more of a legal right to have it killed, then she should if she took her 2yr old by the hand, walked into a clinic, and had the child dismembered while he was moving around trying to get away.
Two year olds are inside women, now?
Not a bit of that is hyperbolic in the least. This is how a D&C is done in the second trimester. You know...that 15th week everyone is fond of talking about.
No, it really is not.
That is the debate. Whether a person (doesn't matter who) has the right to kill someone else. That debate is predicated upon the debate of when is someone a person. You've spoken multiple times about this being a religious thing. I don't need a belief/faith system to debate this at all.

You can reach whatever conclusion you want, based on faith or otherwise, for yourself. You have no right to insist everyone must buy your argument.
Abortion in the South, and soon, probably all over the country
