It’s your view that there is “another” here. Neither science nor law says that. And if in fact a fetus is a person, vast swathes of American law make no sense.
That fetus is a distinct individual from the woman. They are connected, but it is temporary.
And abortion is specifically focused on that temporary connection. The day you’re able to incubate a fetus in an artificial womb, and that’s not as far away as this used to be, you’d have a different case. But even then, what forms inside a woman’s body is hers to keep or not. The law has no business inside her.
She should have no more of a legal right to have it killed, then she should if she took her 2yr old by the hand, walked into a clinic, and had the child dismembered while he was moving around trying to get away.
Two year olds are inside women, now?
Not a bit of that is hyperbolic in the least. This is how a D&C is done in the second trimester. You know...that 15th week everyone is fond of talking about.
No, it really is not.
That is the debate. Whether a person (doesn't matter who) has the right to kill someone else. That debate is predicated upon the debate of when is someone a person. You've spoken multiple times about this being a religious thing. I don't need a belief/faith system to debate this at all.
