Well. Now I've actually seen it. (mild spoilers) Legolas Send a noteboard - 09/04/2012 12:17:03 AM
I really enjoyed the movie, though I was confused near the end as I had thought the entire trilogy was set during those Hunger Games - I kept thinking "um, shouldn't you stop, you'll have no plot left for the next two movies". Perhaps partially as a result of that, the final few deaths felt a bit rushed to me. I think I'll reserve final judgement on the "feminist or not" question until I've read the trilogy and know the whole story, but based on what I saw in the movie, I'm inclined to say Katniss is a feminist heroine, alright. Apart from Jennifer Lawrence being drop-dead gorgeous (hell, all of them are), which I'm guessing Katniss wasn't exactly supposed to be, I see little reason to complain. And as for that, well, what do you expect from Hollywood... and it does make things more enjoyable to watch, of course.
