I disagree. I think you've made this whole scene needlessly complex. RJ's surprise at the fan reactions speaks volumes to me. It's clear that he had no intention of making this a larger plot driver, he just needed to clear Asmo out of the way, so he did it as practically an afterthought! Creating an elaborate back story makes no sense.
It can't be too simply, otherwise more people had figured it out and RJ wouldn't have "took time to write down an extensive note about the murder, explaining very precisely and in many details what happened and what lead to it."
On the other hand, my Slayer theory also isn't overly complex.
That's my biggest problem with it! Starting with how Slayer would know where Asmodean actual was when he bounced from Cairhien to Caemlyn only hours prior to his death!
And the timing of RJs quote probably changes the whole "majority of fans issue" At the time he made this comment there we a LOT more theories roaming around out there!
