If she is literally more than the sum of their strengths, then explain to me how Silviana, who is around Amys's strength at most, and Katerine, can shield Egwene on their own. That flies in the face of all we know.


KoD (Embers Falling on Dry Grass) - The glow of saidar surrounded Silviana, and she took over the shield smoothly, without giving any opening when Egwene might have embraced the Power herself. She was certain she could, now. Except that Silviana was far from weak; there was no hope she could break the woman's shield."

A few paragraphs before this, she states that she can't even embrace saidar even if she wants to. At the point where she comments on Silviana she is heavily obtunded by Forkroot, but can embrace saidar. However, her 'strength' is still low, and she wouldn't be able to break the shield.


Clearly, Egwene is still under some measure of forkroot influence. So she is not at her full strength.

Bottomline, Silviana is not stronger than Amys, is she? If not, she could not hold a full strength Egwene unless she had a similar shielding talent to Berowin. That was proved in Book 5, when Amys could not hold Egwene alone.
