I think it takes lots of women to overwhelm a strong man, and fewer to maintain it. If Rand wasn't holding saidin I think six could weave and hold it.

But Nynaeve wasn't holding saidar. Don't you take this sort of thing into account? Amys did shield Egwene alone because Egwene was in TAR and not holding saidar.

Two AS can hold Nynaeve, but only if they catch her unaware, which they did. If she is holding saidar they'll need more women, which is why Liandrin wanted a circle of 3 to overwhelm Moghedien. When Nynaeve got saidar back (by whatever method), she defeated two linked women, as Egwene would too. Both Egwene and Nynaeve are stronger than two women.

Dude, you're saying that a woman/a pair of women less than half as someone can hold a shield on them. Are you saying that Egwene, at 50, can hold a shield on Lanfear, at 100? No matter what state Lanfear was in before, if a strength 50 or less woman can hold a shield on her, I'm the President of America.


Because Rand doesn't use it most of the time.

But nor does his use his full strength all the time. Egwene can guess at his full strength from the maximum he can do, and in the past two books, that maximum has been with an angreal.
