It does seem that the evidence is not on my side on this point.

I'll have to assume that Nynaeve being considered special for being able to learn things after seeing them just once was one of those early book peculiarities which were later dropped.

It does seem strange that this magic is so easily learned, but then again, it is magic.


They note Nynaeve and Egwene and Elayne are exceptional for how fast they learn, but almost every other group of channelers learn as quickly as the girls. Probably due tot he AS training system and the fearful/cautious approach they take. If you are told from the very beginning of your channeling experience to be afraid of all things new it must make it difficult to learn quickly.

This is highlighted by the Kin being similar in their caution, but the WO, WF and AM at least all seem to pick up weaves instinctively.
