There must be some signifigance to this. Can we get any clues as to what their relationship may be? Has Demandred been involved at the Black Tower to some extent? Was he involved in giving Taim some training at some point (though this seems unlikely given the extremely comptetitive nature of these people)? Or have they only met because Demandred at some point popped in to give Taim an order or assess what was going on at the Black Tower?

I believe he was one of those who gave orders to the renegade Asha'man - that was supposed to be the first hard and fast clue that he was not, in fact, Taim. On the other hand, he didn't recognize Flinn at the Cleansing, which means he wasn't one of the pre-Dumai's Wells Asha'man.

The fact that Demandred has developed a personal grudge against Rand recently makes me think of what a douche Logain was in KoD, but there's too much else that doesn't fit.

I kept waiting for Demandred to be revealed as was hinted would happen in the Prologue. But it didn't happen :(


What has Rand done lately to piss someone off? Bearing in mind that with the way Sanderson twisted the chronology until it screamed in the last two books, we have no way of knowing where this portion fits in relation to events in the normal world. He could just be mad about Rand smoking out the Darkfriends in Tear or saving Ituralde & co in Saldaea, or maybe has just mad about Rand's apotheosis. I can't help but think this is going to be one of three results:
- "That doesn't make any sense! If that was Demandred than how/why... "
- "How the hell did we miss that?"
- Or something totally out of left field that we were given no knowledge of. I'm hoping maybe Seleisin is involved.
