We've seen Delving used on injuries or troubles completely unrelated to channeling - Verin Delving the Machin Shin victim Ogier in The Great Hunt comes to mind, but I also recall Samitsu Delving Dobraine in Crossroads of Twilight, and that was an ordinary knife wound.
As such I believe it is quite probable that delving has nothing at all to do with detecting the weaves of the Power, inverted or not, but rather with identifying injuries and afflictions to the body. As Compulsion is a strain upon the brain, I believe it is that which delving detects.
