How does it compare with the other books?
I think I can answer this though. I loved this book, apart from maybe some angst with the end story. But the characters are in danger, and she really doesn't pull punches. What I love most (and am going to be so furious if they don't represent it well in the movie!!) is that ordinary people are capable of major things when the need arises.
Which ordinary people?
Even though they can do magic, most of the characters are meant to be seen as mostly, well, "normal." I like that, when the need arises, they can fight the crazies. I'm thinking of Molly Weasely more than anyone else, and Arthur, come to think of it.
