I don't think Voldemort's character is that much like Hitler - not like the historical Hitler, anyway, who by all accounts could be quite charming when he wanted to be, and had a fair rhetorical talent. Then again, the same is true for Tom Riddle before he went as far to the Dark Side as he did... and Hitler at the end of the war wasn't the Hitler of the early thirties either. Okay, you might have a point on second thought.

Definitely this. Not only is it a bit of a lack of imagination, but it's also fairly tasteless. Imitating the Nürnberger laws was really beyond the pale. And shame on the movie makers for those red bands around the arms, as well.

Yeah. It's a typical example the way Hitler and the Nazis have essentially replaced the devil as ultimate evil, since most people don't believe in the devil anymore. But either way it's cheap and deplorable.
