However, I will repeat a statement that I’ve made several times in the past: Reading science fiction and fantasy is sort of like eating fast food. There’s nothing wrong with it in moderation, but when it dominates what you read, you sit back after the fact, disgusted with yourself and say, “What have I done?”

If that's what it's like for you... cool. That's great. Read to grow, ain't no one gonna stop you. Doesn't apply to me.

I read because I like to read. Full stop. Telling me that my taste in literature is "not going to help me grow" is like telling me that my taste in music won't help me find a deeper relationship with God. Don't care. ~shrug~


EDIT: Apparently I'm cranky tonight. I still stand by what I said, though. ;)
