I don't think that's what you were going for; obviously you do appreciate good science fiction and fantasy.

Your main point came across to me as that we should be reading other literature as well, expanding horizons, which is all well and good. As a general rule for reading and life, sure, I agree it's good to have variety.

But in terms of the Book Club for this specific site? Well, the reason people come to this site is that they happen to appreciate a certain kind of literature, and that's probably what they're more apt to discuss here. This is where you come when you want to discuss science fiction and fantasy. That's not to say we don't read classics and "traditional" literature, but with all the websites in the world, surely there are some where people have book clubs discussing non-spec fic.

If you're interested in discussing those particular books on the web, I think that's quite valuable. But in comparison to your fast food analogy, if you want to think of RAFO as a fast food restaurant, great. We need fast food restaurants, too. Even if they don't make up your entire diet, they still need to exist to satisfy a craving. And the restaurants that are catering to that shouldn't necessarily be serving the "healthy" stuff as well. There are other restaurants out there for that purpose.
