It's even worse with films. Years after Aliens or Judgement Day how can a steaming pile like Transformers 2 even exist ? And people on the board always exclaim how they can't wait to see it because of some stupid trailer.

Of course it is. After all film is even more entertainment and money orientated. People need their mindless fun sometimes. Sometimes I just go to see special effects on big screen and nothing gets as pretty FX as SF. Noone forces you to go to see them or even take part in discussing them. I avoid all the Emerich films and am happier this way. But every now and then we get something like Eternal Sunshine of Spotless Mind or Pi or Moon. Noone expects them to have the numbers of Transformesrs but they can be smarter. And Vera Drake also didn't have the numbers The English Patitient did but you'd never consider judging content of one after the other, would you?
Evolution, just like gravity, works even if you don't believe in it.

Stupidity doesn't hurt but it kills.
