As in, I need you to support me, not that I'm going to support you. Lazy wenches.
Anyway, while I'm not obese by any stretch of the imagination, I have gotten a bit roundier than I would have preferred. I will be dieting and exercising (bought a wii fit to get started!), and I figure that the more people I tell, the more embarrassed I'll be if I mess up. Also, I thought that if anyone else is in the midst of getting in shape, it could be fun to share stories.
As a rule I tend to plot, plot and scheme against skinny or normal weighted people who claim to be over weight. I have my suspicions in this case
' />For the record, I'm doing sort of a South Beachy plan (only good carbs, good proteins, good fats, lots of veg) and counting calories on livestrong.com. Also wiiing, obviously. Maybe playing camogie again.
I think you are better off avoiding fad plans. Eat less and move more is always the best option.
I have some questions.
1. Are you currently following any kind of weight loss/fitness plan?
I was, but then due to a number of events (freakish weather, Christmas, massive work commitments) I fell out of the practice of walking and eating reasonably healthily. I've put back on a lot of the weight I lost last year.
2. If so, have you been doing this for a while?
I had been doing it for the guts of a year
3. How's that working for ya?
Well it was working well. I had achieved a level of diet and exercise that I was happy to stick at for the long haul, until events got in the way. For instance I always allowed myself some take out on a weekend. I could have lost weight faster by cutting out all treats, but I wanted a regime that I was happy to keep up for years and years.
4. Have any advice? (If you're Tom, you don't need to tell me that I should just run and eat what I want within reason. I apparently have a special kind of chub that is impervious to this plan.
)
)I'm pretty much with Tom I'm afraid. The best option is to pick a plan for both exercise and diet that you can see yourself still sticking to five years from now. Fad diets will help you loose weight quickly, but you will end up just putting the weight back on once you stop sticking to the plan.
5. Would you like to be supported in this endeavor? I've got an excellent guilt-trip.
Pfft, I was raised catholic. Your guilt powers are no good here
Now a cattle prod, that may be more effective in motivating me.

Oh.
10 kilos is 22 lbs (that's pound, right?) and 17 kilos is 37 lbs.
