And what was the war on terror supposed to accomplish? random thoughts Send a noteboard - 20/09/2011 05:12:11 PM
There has to be a deeper plot than we just wanted to declare war on terror. There has to be a goal that would be accomplished by this war on terror that would be worth the risk of getting caught attacking the American people. Think about the fallout if a government group was found to be responsible, it could end the government as we know it. Watergate would be an honest mistake in comparison and the Trail of Tears would humane.

What was the real goal? I have trouble buying the argument that they felt terrorism was such a grave threat that they had to pull off an attack more devastating that the terrorist were able to accomplish in order to spur the country to action and keep the terrorist from pulling off a devastating attack. Sounds good if you are writing Catch 22 part 2 but not much goos beyond that.

The argument that since their was a strong reaction to being attacked the group attacked must have planned it order to provoke a strong reaction may sound like solid thinking but without any actually evidence to support it all you have is tinfoil hat crazy.
