If I wanted to be accusatory... Vivien Send a noteboard - 04/04/2012 11:05:37 PM
If I wanted to be accusatory, I wouldn't have simply pointed it out and asked for it to stop.

Jens' post used female as a noun no less than 3 times. The one time that he used the word male in the same post he correctly used it as an adjective in the phrase "male character". Somehow, he knows that "male" is best used as an adjective and has no problem doing so without even thinking about it, let alone after having it be pointed out to him.

And the thing is, it's not a common connotation OF THE WORD in my understanding. It's something that people are saying with their TONE, not the word itself. They could be saying "tulip" and have the same exact meaning. nossy speaks English has her first language, and it was news to her.

And, in general, people making simple definitive terminology used by most of the scientific and medical community into insults irritates me. It's not just this post that I'm referring to as "fuss".
