As far as I am aware, Leanne got to know of the DR a just before the Hall. She, at least, did absolutely nothing wrong. She was just too influential and loyal to Siuan to leave behind. Had they left her unstilled, she could have made Elaida's life difficult. Removing her was a matter of convenience, not justice.


I was (mistakenly) thinking that Leane knew what Siuan and Moiraine were up to, but you're right (as far as I know). I checked Encyc.WoT, and it seems Siuan (in TGH) always had Leane leave the room whenever she talked to Moiraine. I wonder if Siuan did that to try to protect Leane, or just to keep as few people as possible from knowing. Some of both, I would imagine. I don't think Siuan mistrusted Leane, but my memory of these details is very hazy.

Anyway ... I agree with what you said. Although, I suspect that Elaida and co. simply assumed Leane was in on it, rather than assume she wasn't but stilled her anyway for the reasons you stated. I don't recall if there was ever any discussion of this, in TSR when it happened or later when the two went to Salidar.
