Certainly they resent how it was handled, but over and over we hear from them that Elaida did not follow the spirit of the Law and that Siuan would have been able counter Elaida's accusations had a real trial been held. Seems to me that the rebellion was calling into question the legality of Siuan being deposed rather than showing actual support of Siuan herself (as evidenced by her treatment even after being healed).


I don't disagree with that, but I think it's largely beside the point, with respect to whether Siuan thought that deposing & stilling were legitmate punishments for her actions. Fionwe summarized a quote from TGH in one of his responses to me - here it is, as he stated it:

In tGH, Siuan says Leanne may call for her stilling if she comes to know, and she wouldn't be wrong. To which Moiraine replies that Leanne would follow her to Shayol Ghul.

We see there that Siuan thinks Leane wouldn't be wrong to call for her stilling, so she clearly believed that it would be a just punishment for her actions. The fact that she thought she might have been able to wiggle out from such a punishment had her situation been dealt with more in accordance with Tower custom/law doesn't change that fact, I think (it just gave rise to the rebellion, which is a different issue).

That's how I look at it, anyway.


When Siuan and Moiraine are talking it seems to me that Siuan is concerned because she's got the DR right there in her hands and is letting him go "run amok" with only an "unreliable" (and very young) Sister to guide him.

I don't disagree that Siuan is unsurprised at her fate, she seemed to have expected it from the earliest days, but I also don't think she ever accepted the way she was deposed because she knows that Elaida pulled her down for petty, personal, reasons rather than her actual "crimes".
