The biggest problem I would have with your theory is the apparent intricacy of the Compulsion that is present. I would not think an Aes Sedai would be able to have learned in the past few months to be as good as Graendal is.

The only other way this could have happened if Graendal always had somebody else do her Compulsion for her, in case she was going to be Balefired, or if Graendal was not in the castle and an AS she had appointed just took matters in her own hand.
I may be wrong now, but didn't Graendal use lots of compulsion only on her toys. Noal and the guy in Bandar Eban seem to both have less, implying that usually she the people she sends on missions have less compulsion on them.
I mean, especially with something as complex as compulsion more is not necessarily better. There being a lot of it could mean someone more clumsy than Graendal has been at work.

Anyway, I don't think Graendal survived, just something I wanted to point out.
