I am a fan of the simple theories (unless we are talking philosophy theories)....

Messanger guy shows up.... on foot . Graendal knows for a fact that she's found out. She uses Compulsion on him as per typical, but she riggs it so that if one person Delves for it, upon a second look, it won't be there. After all...unless you can confirm evidence, its not worth that much.

Graendal sends the guy off. She then opens up a gateway and leaves. Who cares what happens to the palace (if anything)...it was fun for a time, but honestly, the decore' was so last season.

There ya go...simple.
