Why wasn't Liandrin able to use Compulsion then, even after she'd seen Moghedien's? She specifically says all that she'd been able to figure out (TFoH 34), quite clearly your idea that people can learn weaves just by seeing them is ridiculous. And Liandrin is much stronger than Delana, and Moghedien's Compulsion is far less intricate than Graendal's!

As for whe she would flee after Ramshalan's visit, I can't accept "but Graendal is smart!" as a valid reason. Intelligence does not grant omniscience.


Moghedien used Compulsion ON Liandrin, she didn't demonstrate the friggin weave to her!

There are dozens of examples in the text of channelers copying a weave ... Logain with Deathgates, Rand following Rahvin and Sammael's gateways ... the list goes on and on.

I'm not saying Graendal knew Rand was going to Balefire her, I'm saying it would have been very easy for her to figure out that he was hot on her trail. She did have other evidence though since her spies are everywhere is seems likely she knows:

1. He was openly using BF against the Forsaken (Moridin may have even told her about the Dream)
2. He has the CK at hand
3. He is no longer reluctant to kill women
4. She was part of the plot to break his heart so she knows he's in a delicate mental place

it's not impossible for her to have thought about his options and taken precautions. Given that she has an as of yet undisclosed agreement with Aran'gar it's possible that Delana is hanging around her now too.

For the record I think she's most likely dead. I just think if she is alive this is the most likely explanation.
