I'll admit I can't recall this incident.

The others you named are all exceptionally strong channelers. The same was said about Nynaeve, and she too is noted as being exceptional due to her ability to replicate things after seeing them done just once.

it's not impossible for her to have thought about his options and taken precautions. Given that she has an as of yet undisclosed agreement with Aran'gar it's possible that Delana is hanging around her now too.


I thought the argument you were going for was that it wasn't planned?


Rand says that his Ash'aman learnt his deathgates immediately, and right after that they started using them. Besides that, Graendal tells Sammael that she can teach someone Compulsion, but that she doesn't want to.

I think if she did teach Delana, she did it over a few days or weeks, and set her up as a false proxy.
