Just another thought, what about the fact that Moridin wanted Graendal to stay in Arad Doman, and made her think she would be rewarded for success there? Does anyone think that might make her think twice at fleeing at the first sign of trouble? I mean, she was meant to cause him pain of heart, and what better way of doing that then ensnaring him in a game of wits and having direct interaction with him? The emissary sent to her, from that light, is an opportunity, not a sign to flee.

Not saying she specifically thought this way, it's just another angle to look at the whole thing.

To be clear, while there are possibilities that she might have made it out, everyone knows she's really dead, right? Right? Guys...?
