well in book 2 i think Moiraine did say Nyneave was like a Bonfire compared to Egwene and Eaynes candles - whic means she is much stronger - even though Eggy and Elayne - are stronger than Cudusane who was the strongest in 1000 years - and theres a sharp drop from her and the next lot of aes sedai (Moiarine, Siuane, Lelaine, Romanda and Elaida being equal in power and the strongest Aes Sedai before our heriones turned up.

Plus you can see how Egwene was scared crap - when Moggy was free of the adam - and even mentioned how the only person (Nyneave) who could possible match her (Moghedian) - please also note not the person who can beat her BUT MATCH HER (For all who belive Nyneave is stronger) was not in the camp.

Furthermore - look at egwenes reaction to Mesaana quote..."Light, but that woman had been strong"... in toal awe and scared - she even says why fight when she couldn't!!!
