We've known this for some time, with countless mentions in the book. Although there may be only 1-2 "levels" between Elayne and Nynaeve/Moggy, we know there is a LOT of power difference there.

Again, this has been stated explicitly by RJ, and the characters themselves when viewing Nynaeve channel and comparing her strength to Egwene/Elayne.
