Like the supposed unimportance of Murandy, it's a typical misunderstanding...

When does Bryne say that Murandy would be a factor in a conflict between Rand's armies comprised of at least three powerful nations, most of the Aiel in the Waste and a legion of trained channeling war weapons, the Seanchan armies which have conquered similarly or more powerful nations near instantly, and all the Shadowspawn in the Blight?
I actually suspect Demandred is working through the Black Tower. I mean, what better way to both undercut his hated enemy and get an army capable of defeating him?
To me such a sceanrio seems much more satisfying than a complete deux ex machina Sharan army or - even worse - one from the Land of the Madmen (which is only mentioned in the Guide).

That Demandred would control the BT through Taim. While Taim is Rand's leader at the BT, Taim still has just 100 cronies; the other several hundred AM serve Rand, as far as we know. The BT is still in Rand's hand. If Rand calls for AM, Taim delivers them. Even Mesaana had a stronger control over the WT by controlling Elaida through Alviarin.
Taim also doesn't have any territorial power, except for maybe the grounds of the BT. That Demandred could call this his "secured rule" and that he is gathering 100 Taim's cronies (which are already gathered anyway), seems vastly more pitiful than that Demandred might control Murandy (maybe with a possible army of 100.000 men? ) and most Dragonsworn in the Westlands (maybe additionally 100.000 men?) to make more chaos.
If Demandred is only linked to the BT, it also doesn't explain what Demandred did before LoC. But the better clues indicate anyway, that Taim is directly under Moridin's oversight.
