Moiraine's like a Mongoose, seems harmless but she hunts snakes for a living. Merean was also stronger than her, but like Lan, Moiraine will fight to the death.


That's a very different thing than being a powerful fighter. She's closer to Moghedien ... sneak attacks. I don't mean to take anything away from her, but she's not in the same class as the FS or the other main characters. In a head to head battle against any of them she's likely lose. Moiraine is by far the best of the AS (with probably exception of Cadsuane)... and to your point is much like Lan in that she would be willing to die in order to win.
