Neverthless, my instinctual feeling is that they will clash in the next book (over the AM/AS bonding issue), and that it will only be resolved at the end of ToM if at all. There is certainly a chance that Egwene will turn out like Lara Posae (sp?), who forsook LTT before the Strike @ SG.
I don't know if she's going to go that extreme, but there will be problems. Elaida's foretelling in aCoS of the Dragon facing the Amyrlin and knowing her anger tells us that Rand and Egwene's next meeting will have problems. We're all smarter than Elaida, and we've realized for years the Amyrlin in that Foretelling was likely to be Egwene.
The bonding issue will be one, but perhaps not the worst. Rand to his credit tried to smooth things over by allowing the rebel AS to bond AM. Naturally, Taim did his part to torpedo that at the end of KoD. So, Rand isn't going to be happy about the Red sisters bonding AM, and it's possible (some here would say likely) that Egwene will get her ass bent out of shape about the bonded AS anyway no matter that Rand did offer a compromise. Personally, I think that whole genie is out of the bottle and there's nothing either Rand or Egwene can do about it. My view for a while has been that the AM will eventually replace the Warders as AM and AS mutually bond each other and possibly do so as a marriage.
No, Egwene's going to be in a snit over her assumption that Rand Compelled sisters to swear fealty. This while conveniently ignoring the fact that he's ta'veren. That's had her shift in a bunch for a while.
Then there's the whole Seanchan WT attack. Tuon only launched that after Rand scared her with his attempt to Compel or whatever her into a truce. So Rand could be blamed for that, if the AS learn why the Seanchan launched the attack. This actually would be a legitimate reason for Egwene to be angry with Rand, since he provoked an attack against the WT, which cost them at least 40 sisters lost as damane, perhaps more killed in the fighting, and the rather significant damage done to the WT itself. And if it was Compulsion he tried to pull, there will be plenty of AS anger, since that's just as outlawed as balefire. Again, this is assuming the AS learn that the attack on the WT occured because the Seanchan saw the DR and WT/AS as a threat.
God I am so pissed off at Future Egwene
