Charity Burbage: We see her killed, then we learn from the Prophet that she resigned at the beginning of the summer. Do we ever find out why?


I had always just assumed that she was abducted by Death Eaters / Voldemort and that the story of her resigning and departing Hogwarts was spread to try and explain away her disappearance, but I don't believe we ever get any more information to clarify it.
